Less of Me – by Glen Campbell

I found an old piece of paper where I had written down the chords and lyrics to this song. I had forgotten all about this one. I didn’t realize that it was written by Glen Campbell. This song has a great message – and is very upbeat and positive. Something our world could use at the moment is a few less selfish people (this song in a simple way gets the point across about thinking of others more and ourselves less)

Let Me Be A Little Kinder

Oh let me (G) be a little (C) kinder,

Let me (G) be a little (D) blinder,

To the (C) faults of those around me,

Let me praise a little (C) more.

And let me (G) be when I am (C) weary,

Just a (G) little bit more (D) cheery,

Think a (C) little more of others,

And a (D) little less of (G) me. (C) (G)

Let me be a little braver,

When temptation bids me waver.

Let me strive a little harder,

To be all that I should be.

And let me be a little meeker,

With a brother that is weaker.

Let me think more of my neighbour,

And a little less of me.

Let me be when I am weary,

Just a little bit more cheery,

Let me serve a little better,

Those that I am striving for.

And let me be a little meeker,

With a brother that is weaker,

Think a little more of others,

And a little less of me.

Yes, let me (G) be a little (C) meeker,

With a (G) brother that is (D) weaker,

Think a (C) little more of others,

And a (D) little less of (C) me. (G)

In this video he is performing it with Jackie DeShannon.
