For beginner guitar players, finding easy songs to play can boost your confidence (after you learn them, of course). Don’t set yourself up for failure by trying to play the most complicated music at first. Try to find a song that uses three chords and master that song before you start feeling frustrated about being a beginner at playing guitar. Learn the song first by just strumming it. Later, after you learn to play it that way you could add bass runs or any kind of riffs of the melody.
Some suggested easy guitar songs (I’ll be adding chords and lyrics to some of these soon):
Nowhere Man – The Beatles (or most of the early Beatle’s songs)
As Tears Go By – The Rolling Stones
Old Man – Neil Young
Harvest Moon – Neil Young
Folsom Prison Blues / Your Cheating Heart
God Put A Smile Upon Your Face – Coldplay
Friend Of The Devil – The Grateful Dead
House of the Risin’ Sun – (as performed by Bob Dylan or The Animals)
It’s Too Late – Carole King
More Guitar Songs – For Intermediate and Advanced Guitar Players:
California Dreaming – by the Mamas and the Papas
Same Old Lang Syne – by Dan Fogelberg
We are in the process of adding the lyrics and chords to many of these easy guitar songs, so come back and check for these and more.
